Ghosts epitomize the height of human evolution and physical conditioning. Born with incredible psionic potential, these agents are quarantined and trained from infancy to channel their psionic energies to augment their natural physical strength and endurance. Some extraordinary individuals can run at remarkable speeds, and leap tall obstacles. Excitable media rumors of long-range telepathy, telekinesis, and even mind control or other exotic powers have all added to the grisly reputation of ghosts cultivated by their masters [1]. As a precautionary measure, Psychic Dampeners are surgically implanted in all ghosts.They are equiped with light suit modified individually for each ghost. Thie black suit, though it´s not as robust as marine´s, it provides fair protection. As well as other suits, it has life support and NBC protection. The suit is laced with a form of psi-sensitive artificial muscle fiber. Thus, a typical ghost is tougher, stronger, and faster than even a well-trained but otherwise average terran [1]. Reflectors are replaced by sensitive optics in helmet, because the light would reveal the ghost during covert operations, which are his primary goal. The helmet has built-in several sensors e.g. thermovision, infravision/image enhancer, zoom and multifunctional HUD. Therefor, the ghost is able to see in almost any environment or even in pitch black while unseen. Ghotst undergo very tough training so they are very dexterous and fast even in difficult terrain.

They use special 25mm C-10 canister [...] or more modern BOSUN FN92 [...] rifles. Those long range (2km) sniper rifles [2] use similar amunition as marine´s rifles, but have lower cadency. This is compensated by the ability to target very precisely and neutralize the enemy with one single shot. The ghost may be equiped with semi-automatic Smith .35 gun [...] and pack of grenades (S-15 smoke [...], BE3 sticky [...] or even fragmentation grenades [...]).

The most feared ability is the cloaking [...]. The personal cloaking device is part of the suit, and is controled by the computer on the back of the hand. The device is able to render the ghost virtually invisible in few seconds. In dependance on the batteries state, he can stay cloaked for several hours. There are only few ways to detect cloaked ghost (satelite, special detectors...). Cloaked ghost can use all other special abilities as long as he is skilled enough to avoid eventual blind fire. It´s believed, that even if most of the Zerg can´t see the ghost, they can fell him in some way.

Another ability is the lockdown [...]. Ghost carries few (up to ten) sticky mini-missiles, that can be fired from underslug launcher on the rifle. The range of these missiles is cca 100m [2]. The missile charges from the ghost´s batteries before launch and when it reaches tha target, it sticks on the surface and begins to emit strong electro-magnetic field, that paralyzes the target. However it works only on mechanical units or units using electronics. The field has no effect on Zerg but it works on any kind of Protoss units, because all of them use electronics in some way. If the target unit is airborn, it usually crash down and is destroyed [3]. The duration of paralysis depends on the size of the target and energy in ghost´s batteries. The larger the target, the large the field and thus the faster discharge. Lockdowned tank is usually immobile for a few minutes.

The ghost is also able to call down nuclear strikes [...]. The C-10 is equipped with an underslung low-frequency laser to pinpoint targets of such strikes. As soon as the missile is launched, it tries to lock on target. If something interrputs the signal, the missile continues in original course, what is usually outside the target area, or it may be destroyed by operator, if there is a risk of damage to own units. Terrans have several types of tactical thermonuclear warheads at their disposal. From very light with minimal payload (kt) up to ultra heavy with several warheads (tens of Mt). Recently Terrans have started to use drop pods with marine reinforcements, that can be called down to the battlefield using the same targeting laser [1]. All of ghost´s devices are powered from the central Moebius reactor [...].
