Probes are small robotic drones that are build by the Nexus [...] and gather the resources. It moves on small antigravity [...] gear, that enables it to pass through dificult terrain. It is equipped with ligth shield [...] and armoour. It uses particle beam for the mining purposes. In the emergency, it can be used for defense, but it has limited range (cca 2m) and very low effectiveness. Probes also manufacture and plant the micro-beacons that anchor the teleport matrices of Protoss structures. These beacons allow the Protoss to warp in prefabricated buildings from their Homeworld [...].
